Illinois Adult Education Service Center Network
The Service Center Network is a professional development system
designed to provide training activities and support systems to
Illinois Adult Education and Family Literacy programs. The system is
designed around a regional and statewide delivery system. Three
regional centers are located across the state in the North, Central,
Southern regions.
Their scope of service centers on adult education instructional
staff with additional program staff services available. The fourth
center has a statewide delivery area. Their scope of service
addresses administrators and support staff professional development
needs. The Service Centers’ unique support system has over twenty
years of experience in professional development. Their Services
include: on-site training activities, regional training programs,
regional conferences, statewide conferences, themed focus groups,
on-line training activities, resource libraries, professional
publications, statewide training event calendar, and a vast array of
program support utilities. Illinois has a rich history of staff
development that was pioneered by the Illinois Service Center
Network. The investment in training and support is a true advantage
to our state’s adult education enterprise.
