| Adult Education is Level Funded for 2011 |

The Governor, in his budget address on July 1, 2010, announced that adult education is level funded for FY11! The Governor indicated that there was $26.78 million in the budget for adult education. He includes Career and Technical Education (CTE - $9.2 million) in that figure so adult education's share is $17.6 million--the same as last year. The total amount meets the maintenance of effort requirement to qualify for $48 million in federal dollars for the two programs. You may want to read the Governor's remarks at www.illinois.gov. |
